Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons will happen bi-weekly.
Switching Classes: As we get back into the swing of things, we want to make sure that you are aware that we switch classes for some of our subjects in 5th grade. This is to give students an opportunity to get a taste of middle school and get used to learning from multiple teachers within one year. Your child will be learning Science from Mrs. Kern, Social Studies from Mrs. Lawrence, and Math from Mr. Werner. We will not plan to switch until Thursday. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Food at School
Lunch is at 11:30 and snack time will be at 2:15 each day.
We do have multiple peanut and/or tree nut and egg allergies in each 5th grade class. Please bring snacks that are peanut and tree nut free and egg free from the list below:
Free Breakfast/Lunch: We are excited to offer free breakfast and lunch to students this year. All families will need to fill out the lunch forms in the Meal Magic Family Portal: https://stjosephmi.familyportal.cloud/in order to ensure funds for these meals from the state and federal government. Thank you!
Drinks = Water Only, Pretty Please!: Labeled water bottles are encouraged. Only water is permitted in the room for students.
Donation Opportunities:
Peanut, tree nut, and egg free snacks are always welcome as donations!
Birthdays: We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class please bring in non-food items, for example instead of cupcakes, maybe pencils. Sometimes parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!
